1. What Herald is

Herald is an independent, unofficial tool for viewing your own activity from the platforms you connect (currently Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch, and Bluesky), reading public X (Twitter) posts, and viewing public crypto market data, on Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses and a companion website. Herald is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored by, or certified by Discord, Reddit, Google/YouTube, Twitch, Bluesky, X/Twitter, Meta, or any cryptocurrency project. Some public content is retrieved through third-party data providers rather than a platform’s official API; access methods and data sources may change or be restricted at any time. All trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify interoperability.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country and on every platform you connect) and able to form a binding agreement.

3. Connecting your accounts

• You connect your own accounts using each platform’s official OAuth sign-in where available (Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Twitch). Bluesky has no OAuth, so it uses a revocable app password you generate in Bluesky’s own settings and enter yourself. X (Twitter) content shown in Herald is public and retrieved via a third-party data provider — no X login is requested or required. You are responsible for your accounts and for complying with each platform’s own terms and policies (Reddit, Discord, YouTube, Twitch).
• Herald accesses only the scopes needed for the features you use and acts only when you ask it to. Discord, Bluesky and X access is read-only — Herald never posts or acts as you on those platforms.
• Pairing uses a short code shown on your glasses. Completing pairing links the device/browser you used to that glasses session so you can manage connected accounts from it — keep the code private and pair on a device you trust. Each code expires in 10 minutes and is single-use.
• You can switch, disconnect, or delete your data at any time from the companion site; signing out or deleting also clears the device binding above.

4. Acceptable use

• Use Herald only for your own personal, non-commercial, lawful use.
• Don’t use Herald to bulk-export, redistribute, resell, or build a competing dataset from content it displays, to harass others, or to distribute unlawful content. Content shown belongs to its owners and the originating platforms.
• Don’t automate, overload, scrape, or otherwise abuse Herald or its infrastructure, attempt to bypass its limits or access controls, reverse-engineer it for abuse, or gain unauthorized access.

5. Not financial advice

Augur market data (prices, movers, watchlists) is provided for general information only, may be delayed or inaccurate, and is not financial, investment, or trading advice. Decisions you make are your own.

6. Availability & changes

Herald is provided as an evolving project. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it at any time, and platform APIs may change or restrict access outside our control.

7. Disclaimers

HERALD IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that Herald will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data shown is accurate or current.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR ACCOUNTS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) HERALD. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using Herald and delete your data at any time. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or risks harm to Herald, its users, or third parties.

10. Privacy

Your use is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. Operator & governing law

Herald is a product operated by Ascent and hosted on the ascents.gg domain. The operating legal entity, the law governing these Terms, and the venue for disputes are those that apply to Ascent; where Ascent publishes company-wide legal terms, those govern the operator entity and prevail over this section to the extent of any conflict.
