About
Your own Home Assistant on the Display. Paste your instance URL and a long-lived access token (HA → your profile → Long-Lived Access Tokens). Herald keeps only the token. Anything in your Home Assistant works here — Philips Hue, Google Home, Alexa-exposed devices, Zigbee, Z-Wave — because HA already federates them into normal entities. Glance at and toggle lights, switches, fans, scenes and scripts, and read sensors, climate, locks and media players — your whole smart home, hands-free, with no blocked third-party logins.
Features
- Works with everything in your HA — Hue, Google Home, Alexa, Zigbee
- Self-hosted — your instance, your token
- Toggle lights / switches / fans, run scenes & scripts
- Read sensors, climate, locks & media players
- No OAuth — sidesteps the blocked Google/Alexa logins
Good to know
- You provide your own URL + long-lived token
- Cameras are deliberately excluded (privacy — no video)
- Your instance must be reachable from the internet (Nabu Casa / reverse proxy)
Data safety
No third-party sharing. Herald doesn't sell or share your data, and there are no ads or trackers.
Minimal collection. Only what a linked service needs — provider tokens are encrypted on Herald's server and never stored on the glasses.
Encrypted in transit. All traffic is HTTPS.
You're in control. Disconnect any linked service at any time from the companion.
