Preview
As seen through the Display Open live preview ↗A live render at the true 600×600 Display size. On the glasses the dark areas are fully transparent — only the bright UI floats over the real world. If it stays blank the app blocks embedding; use the link above.
About
Mastodon on the Display — federated timeline, notifications, fav/boost. Shell-only for now: the app screen, icon and launcher entry are live, and the empty state walks through the per-instance OAuth flow on your phone (pick mastodon.social, hachyderm.io, or your home instance — Herald registers itself per-instance and keeps only the access token). Backend lands in the next pass.
Features
- App installed, launchable, listed in the Social row
- Empty state explains the per-instance OAuth flow
- Same translucent floating UI as the rest of the Display
Good to know
- Backend not wired yet — no timeline rendering from the glasses today
- Needs a one-time OAuth authorise on your phone, per instance
- Rate-limited by your home instance's API quotas when the backend lands
Data safety
No third-party sharing. Herald doesn't sell or share your data, and there are no ads or trackers.
Minimal collection. Only what a linked service needs — provider tokens are encrypted on Herald's server and never stored on the glasses.
Encrypted in transit. All traffic is HTTPS.
You're in control. Disconnect any linked service at any time from the companion.
